Organizing the Unorganized
The enriching diversity of India with its 450 million blue-collar workforce is gearing up for a new high in 2022.
It’s been no secret that the previous years have been difficult for all of us and the malignant effects caused by Covid-19 on our well-being as a community are evident. To exasperate the issue of the insurmountable job losses, paired with low savings, the underprivileged sectors of India’s economy took the biggest hit causing the economy to tumble as a whole.
Given the global trend of transitioning from the office to online workspaces have rendered some of the jobs such as maintenance staff, peons obsolete to a large extent. Despite the presenting challenges, the proletarians of India have started to see the light. The golden age of technology has expanded drastically post-pandemic and workers need to adapt to new, upgraded skillset to survive this modernized wave.
Where does OTU come in?
OTU aims to target India’s biggest sector filled with untapped potential: The blue-collar workers. With the large-scale emphasis on the ever-expanding world of white-collar workers with them climbing the corporate ladder with ease, we somehow have neglected the most crucial aspect of our economy– the blue-collar workers. The agricultural sector, for instance, is the backbone of the Indian economy with the nationwide reliance on sustenance.
OTU came up with a streamlined approach to empower, educate and encourage conversations that help service the under served of our economy.
The job market is hot with new avenues open for organizations, especially with the upcoming age of automation, the focus is on the qualified.
How does OTU seek to organize the unorganized?
Breaking down the core of any job searching activity is summed up in one word– Network. Having a reliable backdrop of like-minded individuals with similar visions and experiences empowers others to have conversations that create a momentum of growth.
OTU seeks to enhance and revolutionize the corporate ecosystem by moving the mic to the people who have been long neglected. To inspire conversations in communities of blue-collar workers, OTU not only inspires engagement in communities but adds light to developmental opportunities too. This ensemble with motivation can become the limelight of India’s ascension.
